About Me:

I received my Ph.D. in 1984 from the University of British Columbia. My first academic appointment was Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, Dalhousie University Halifax. I spent the academic year 1986-87 as visiting Fellow in the Institute of Economics, The Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration Bergen, Norway. From 1992-1999 I held the position of adjunct Professor in the Institute. Currently I am adjunct Professor in the Department of Industrial Economics, University of Stavanger, Norway. In 1992, I accepted an Associate Professor position in the Department of Economics, University of Calgary. I was promoted to Full Professor in July 1997. I was joint Editor of the Canadian Journal of Agricultural Economics for the period 1995 - 1998 and co-Editor of Marine Resource Economics for the period 2004 – 2012.  I enjoy spending time in the mountains around Calgary and Bergen, fishing and reading historical murder mysteries.

Current Research:

* Measurement issues in energy markets * Testing for time effects, agent effects and returns to scale in resource industries
