Leah Hennel / Postmedia News

The Calgary Herald has released its 2019 list of Compelling Calgarians, and we are delighted to announced Trevor Tombe is one of them!

Employed since 2012, Trevor Tombe is an associate professor in the Department of Economics as well as a research fellow at the School of Public Policy. With his research interests focused on economic growth and development, Trevor has been a regular contributor on the CBC podcast, "The Homestretch" on the economic future on both a local and provincial scale. He is also a trusted expert opinion featured in numerous news articles and interviews within CBC, Calgary Herald, Financial Post, and Global News. Always backed by research and data, he is able to express the ideas not only to undergraduates in his classes at the university but also the public-facing audience, even making complex ideas bite-sized as shown through how he runs both the Department of Economics' twitter account and his own.
