Departmental researchers Ted Horbulyk and Collins Ayoo, along with colleagues from the Alberta Research Council, are holding a research workshop that links computational economic modeling with water policy analysis. The workshop will allow invited researchers to discuss alternative methodological approaches and to establish a base for more effective collaboration in future. Professors Richard Howitt and Jay Lund of the University of California at Davis and Professor David Zilberman of the University of California at Berkeley have agreed to help facilitate this workshop and to share their experiences on how the California research community has met these challenges. The workshop is being held with the financial support of the Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery, ISEEE and the Alberta Ingenuity Centre for Water Research. Although we tend to think of economics as involving problem sets and equations, the fact is that the results of economic research must be communicated effectively. This program provides the skills needed to communicate economics. For more information consult the links on the Undergraduate web page. |
